San Francisco, California
Sunday
- Friday, September 21 - 26, 2003
We have fallen in love with walking
in San Francisco. While it is out of the norm for us to walk in
a city, we find this to be a fascinating exception. We see well-known
sights and walk through lesser known parts of the city too. We
might even find some grand stairways in our path.
ITINERARY
Walk
the Coastal Trail, from Fisherman’s Wharf through the Presidio
and across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito.
Explore
the Golden Gate and Ocean Beach areas. See some newly renovated,
as well as older, historical areas of the city. Enjoy a morning
walk to Mission Dolores.
Ferry
to Alcatraz, with its historical significance and outstanding
city views.
Top
it all off by going north to Muir Woods and Marin County for a
day.
We stay in the European-style San Remo Hotel, just
a hop, skip and jump from Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach and Chinatown.
This promises to be five days of exciting walking, filled with
interests for all and plenty of fun.
Tour includes lodging, breakfasts, three
lunches, two dinners, local transport, admissions, ferry trip
and guided hiking. Tour Fee: $1195 (all rooms single - 2 persons
sharing room discounted). Tour deposit: $600.
